STUDIO RENTAL GUIDE

Everything you need to know before you walk through the front door.

how to get inside

You'll receive a door code before the day of your studio rental. This is a 6-8 digit code that is personalized to you.

Here's how to use the code/keypad:

  • press the checkmark to wake up the keypad
  • enter your personalized code
  • press the checkmark again

The deadbolt should then unlock itself. You're in! NOTE: This door will not automatically lock after a certain amount of time. It's very important that you re-enter your code on your way out the door when you leave and ensure the deadbolt latches. Do not lock the door handle.

TROUBLESHOOTING: If you still can't open the door after 2-3 attempts, please call me immediately at 509-945-2905. I may be able to open it remotely, or can come down to unlock it for you manually.

Shoes, coats & personal items

There is a black rolling rack with hangers, hooks, and a bottom shelf for wet/dirty shoes. Please utilize this rack for any personal items you'd like tucked away, as well as any wet/rainy/snowy/muddy items from outside. There is a very small entry area, so please be sure to remove these items immediately and stash them to ensure the rental space remains clean.

PRO TIP: I usually bring a separate, clean pair of shoes to wear in the studio, especially during the winter months.

Utilizing the rental space

All furniture in the room is moveable and on felt feet. Please feel free to move any items you wish. I do ask that you be cautious as you move things, as sometimes the felt feet can fall off without my knowing. If this happens, please let me know so I can replace and keep the floors pretty and scratch-free. The table is pretty heavy, so be aware of that.

The space available for rent only includes the front room of the studio. There is a a back room, and a shared hallway that leads to the restroom, but both are not intended to be client-facing spaces during your rental period. If you need a private space for your client to change, or anticipate needing a restroom (getting ready space, HMU, etc.), please let me know in advance and we can make a plan together.

One caveat: I do not mind if you tuck things into the back room. I'm ok with rolling the cart behind the closed door, or pulling out a chair or stool from the back room to use up front. The backdrop system, desk, computer, and lighting equipment are not included as part of your rental.

Please do NOT lock the door between the front room and the hallway!

studio security

There are two security cameras in and around the studio. First is the camera on the front door, and the second is in the back room. Please do not alter or unplug the cameras in any way, and make sure your clients don't change within view of the camera!

studio CLEAN-UP

Please leave the studio as clean as you found it. If crumbs, dirt, etc., need to be cleaned up, I have a vacuum and broom in the restroom. Please disclose any messes that may need some attention after your rental period (a spot on the couch, sticky spot on the floor, stuff like that). That way I can be sure the issue is resolved before the next use of the studio space.

WHEN YOU LEAVE

The studio should be left as you found it:

  • Trash removed
  • All furniture put back into place
  • Lights are turned off
  • Deadbolt on the front door is locked (not the door handle itself)

Feel free to tag @thestudioslate on instagram with any behind the scenes content or photos from your time in studio!

I'd love any feedback you have regarding the use of the space.

Happy creating!
