Welcome to the studio.

Meet Studio Slate, a collaborative space in downtown La Grande by astonecreative. The studio is a small and cozy space with tall ceilings and abundant natural light. It's located in the historic Sommer Helm Building, at 1211 Washington Ave. The space serves as my primary office location, as well as the location for all my studio sessions, headshots, and more.

When I'm not using the space, I offer it up to other creatives to use as their blank slate. Find it on Peerspace for more information!

NATURAL LIGHT FOR DAYS

The studio has some gorgeous direct sunlight throughout the day that can be filtered with blinds or sheer curtains. A curtain has been placed over the front door so your session can't be seen by passersby.

If you're curious what the light looks like at a certain time of day, I'd love to send you a snapshot or instagram video of the space!

hospitality touches

The space is just short of 300 square feet, which means that every square inch should be utilized to its greatest potential! In the space is a rolling garment rack with hooks, hangers, and shelf, so you and your client can store all your outfits, gear, and personal items out of frame... no matter what angle you're shooting from.

chairs, chairs, chairs

The space has a variety of seats to choose from: two stools, an upholstered chair, a swiveling leather barrel chair, a navy blue velvet armchair, a cream corduroy loveseat, and a faux leather mid-century style couch.

Seating items may be rotated out periodically to accommodate fresh new items, so if there's something specific you're looking for, let me know!

the plants

I've tried to add a little bit of green to the space. The large fiddle leaf is a faux plant, and can be easily moved to accommodate any room configuration. (actually, all the furniture have felt feet and can be easily moved)

downtown vibes

You can find us in the heart of Downtown La Grande, directly across from the post office, and within a short walk from great food, coffee, beer, and more.

more light

Depending on the time of year, it might be worth bringing some supplemental light if you're hoping to keep your ISO nice and low. Lights are not included with your rental fee, but may be available for an additional fee if you're interested.

This space is a labor of love/slow-but-constant work in progress, and will continue to grow and evolve as I learn more about how we'll best utilize the studio. If you have ANY questions as a potential client, fellow creative, or otherwise, I'd love to hear from you. I'm pretty passionate about sharing this space with our community.

Onward and upward!
